Efficacy of isolated bacteriophage against biofilm embedded colistin-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii

Acinetobacter baumannii is responsible for most nosocomial infections in hospitals. It can form biofilms and has a high degree of antibiotic resistance. Colistin one the last therapeutic options treatment MDR infections. Recently, strains this pathogen resistance to colistin were reported increasingly. Therefore, alternative antibacterial methods, such as phage therapy, are being researched. This study aims survey efficacy isolated Myoviridae bacteriophage against biofilm embedded colistin-resistant baumannii. In study, 15 isolates bacteria isolated, their was measured using violet crystal staining, MIC broth microdilution method. On other hand, lytic purified from wastewater. Finally, effect on calculated MTT staining From A. clinical isolates, 26.6% resistant colistin, 80% able produce strong biofilm, 20% have weak biofilm. The (IsfAB78) reduce by up 87%. showed that impacted Phage IsfAB78 right candidate purpose.
